The Farmer & The Chef to Benefit March of Dimes GA Chapter


The March of Dimes, Georgia Chapter presents their inaugural event, The Farmer & The Chef. The event is a fundraiser supporting our mission for stronger, healthier babies. This is the premiere dining event for the March of Dimes, Georgia Chapter, and their patrons include upscale business leaders from throughout the Atlanta community. The Farmer and The Chef will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead.

The premise of the event is simple: pair local farmers with local chefs for a night of unique fine dining. While the event is a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, they are also helping to create sustainable relationships between local farmers and chefs, while reinforcing the movement of eating healthy which is something the March of Dimes believes in and promotes to women who are considering pregnancy.

The event itself will feature an exciting live and silent auction with packages ranging from fine dining, vacation getaways, sports packages and spa packages, just to name a few. Guests will enjoy a fantastic four-course dinner prepared by the local chefs using ingredients from local farmers.

"For reasons I may never know, my daughter, Sayla Rae flew into this world exactly three months ahead of her due date, weighing a whopping 1 lb 14 ounces.  The most exciting time of my life turned upside down in an instant.  She went on to spend 3 agonizing months covered with tubes inside a lonely incubator in the NICU.  Now, at age 3, she is healthy, energetic, smart, and absolutely perfect.  She will forever be my miracle baby and proof that angels are everywhere!"

Take a Bite Out of Smyrna This Weekend!


The Taste of Smyrna is food, fun and music all day long!  Stroll around the Village Green Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. 

Admission is FREE and samples can be purchased from .50 up to $4.00.

Enjoy acoustic music from Scott Thompson performing all day at the Veteran's Memorial and continuous entertainment on the Main Stage.  The Fancisco Vidal Band will be in concert performing on the Main Stage at 7:00 p.m. Franciso Vidal has performed for over 25 years and opened for many national acts including John Mayer, Lynrd Skynrd, Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel, Hall and Oates, Kenny Loggins, and Zac Brown.   

The kids will have a blast in the Kids Zone with interactive inflatables featuring the 33' Shark Slide, Euro Bungee Quad Jump, 24' Rockwall, 120' Roller Coaster Obstacle Course.

ai3 Designs 4 New Atlanta Restaurants

ai3, Inc., an award-winning multi-disciplinary design studio, has been chosen as the design partner for four new Atlanta restaurant projects. ai3 is taking note of a strong interest from chefs and restaurant owners in new interpretations of southern fare and hospitality. 


Among the notable restaurants around Atlanta that have been designed by ai3, Inc. include:

The four restaurants that will be working will ai3, Inc on their designs will be:

Eleanor’s: Part speakeasy, part tribute to a good friend and colleague, Eleanor Seale, the recently opened Eleanor’s is the vision of Ryan Turner, Todd Mussman and Chris Hall. Located in Muss & Turner’s, Eleanor’s is a true speakeasy-meets-saloon that can only be entered through a walk-in "cooler." (opened Summer 2012)

Ink & Elm: Located in Emory Village, Ink & Elm is a tavern,
lounge and dining room that celebrates the deep history of Atlanta’s Druid Hills neighborhood, including Frederick Law Olmsted, the neighborhood’s designer who is also behind NYC’s Central Park and the neighborhood’s Olmsted Linear Park. Expected to open early next year.

La Tagliatella: AmRest Holdings SE, the largest operator of independent restaurants in Central and Eastern Europe, has teamed with ai3 to 
bring the La Tagliatella restaurant brand to the U.S. market for the first time. 
La Tagliatella specializes in high-quality modern Italian cuisine and has served
it's unique fare to more than six million patrons in Europe.

Foundation: Situated on the active urban thoroughfare of DeKalb Avenue,
which connects some of Atlanta’s historic in-town neighborhoods, Foundation
Restaurant will be located on the defining line between historic Inman Park
and the industrial CSX yard and MARTA tracks, a location that parallels the
background story of owner and Executive Chef Mel Toledo. Scheduled to open 2013.
