Vintage '59 Wine Tasting

Since being named a "Best New Restaurant in America" in 2006 by Esquire, Ecco has become one of Atlanta's, and the Southeast's, most recognized and renowned restaurants. The seasonal European menu tempts with delicious meat and cheese boards, housemade pastas, authentic wood-fired pizzas and mouthwatering desserts. The restaurant also features an adventurous, nationally-recognized wine list representing both boutique and well-known European vinyards with many exclusive selections. Featuring award-winning design including an over-sized bar, a large, open-air patio and a breathtakingly beautiful main dining room, Ecco is completely unique, yet comfortable.

Ecco will host a Vintage 59  wine tasting on Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30pm of overlooked whites, reds, Sauvignon Blancs and Rhône blends of France.
While many importers represent a worldwide variety of wines, Vintage ’59 focuses on representing cutting-edge, lesser known wines from France. Their aim is to stay abreast of who is making exceptional wine in good appellations and to bring these wines and stories to those who appreciate them. From established growers to emerging young Turks, their mission is to bring you terrific wines and to make you familiar with the people and places behind them. Perhaps the most important lesson we can learn from them is that even the best artisan wines don’t have to cost you an arm and a leg; they require only an open mind.

Perrine Prieur of Perrine’s Wine Shop will be on-hand to answer questions and take orders.

There will also be a delicious assortment of heavy hors d’oeuvres including poached quail egg with house-cured bacon and apple marmalade; roasted Vidalia onions with anchoiade; beef tartare; rabbit confit with San Agostino tapenade; and a black trumpet mushroom, fontina and speck wood-fired pizza.
