Red Berry and Rosé Sangria Recipe

We are melting here in the sunshine state of Florida and we were discussing which drink is best to "cool down" with! With a little help from Top Chef Master Marcus Samuelsson, below’s recipe is a light twist on sangria, perfect for nighttime summer parties—and days on the beach. Instead of heavy red wine, rosé is used, and instead of sugar, honey (raw, if you can find it!). Raspberries and strawberries add natural sweetness, as lemon slices contribute brightness in flavor and color. To top it off, sparkling water lends a bit of bubbly, and no extra calories and sugar like soda normally would. So drink up! Red Berry and Rosé Sangria is delicious and 100 percent guilt-free.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1 lemon , thinly sliced
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) rosé wine
  • 1 bottle seltzer

Directions

1. In a large pitcher, muddle raspberries and honey until well-mixed (but not mush).
2. Add strawberries and lemon slices, then pour in rosé. Stir to combine and refrigerate until ready to serve.
3. In each glass, add a few ice cubes, and pour in some sangria. Top with a splash of seltzer water. Garnish glass rim with a lemon slice or strawberry piece, if you so please, and enjoy!
