Atlanta Restaurant to offer guests a new Icon Wine to sample

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is offering guests a new Icon Wine to sample through Saturday, March 31. Maeve Pesquera, Fleming’s National Director of Wine, has chosen a Napa Valley wine to feature for the restaurant’s Icon Wine program. The 2007 Swanson Family Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon is characterized by graphite and cassis notes and a definite Oakville taste profile of dark cherries and tobacco leaf. Guests can purchase the wine for $95 per bottle, while supplies last.
“On a recent trip to Napa, people who make their living creating, tasting and selling wine kept leading me to the same doorstep to Swanson Vineyards; to a particular wine they make called Alexis Cabernet,” says Pesquera. “I'm so glad they did. This is very much an ‘insiders’ wine, a boutique-style blend created in the center of the region's preeminent AVA, Oakville.”

The Swanson Family Vineyards, winery of the year in 2010 from Wine and Spirits, is a 100-acre property in the heart of Napa Valley, surrounded by vineyard estates like Opus One, Dominus and Harlan Estate. Swanson Vineyards operates under the helm of elite winemaker Chris Phelps. Phelps is an expert in both the Bordeaux and Napa styles, honed at the venerable Château Petrus in Bordeaux, then at Dominus, under the tutelage of Christian Mouiex, and later still at Caymus, with Chuck Wagner. He has evolved the wine from a primarily Merlot based blend to one now with a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Icon Wine program introduces guests to a new and exciting wine at an exclusive Fleming’s price. Previous Icon wines have included Phelps Insignia, Caymus Cabernet and Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet.

  1. I love wine tasting. Me and husband used to travel just to taste different wines. However, I noticed that my teeth are getting yellowish. My Fullerton dentist says it's because of drinking too much red wine. I then decided to drink just occasionally.
