I had the pleasure of speaking with local entrepreneur Laura Alford, owner of Painting with a Twist of Kennesaw, a new place where friends come together to paint, drink wine and discover their inner artist in a fun atmosphere.  "If you are a wine enthusiast, we have plenty of options for you to choose from to paint!"  Alford is currently working on future "Painting with Pinot and/or Merlot" nights.  "We provide your paint, canvas and brushes!" says Alford.  At Painting With a Twist, all you need to supply is your favorite bottle of wine and snacks and let your creativity grow!

PWAT is part of a growing national franchise that provides guests a unique ‘getaway’ allowing residents the option to bring in and uncork their favorite bottle of wine while exploring their creative side. Led by local art instructors, Atlanta residents paint on bare 16” by 20” canvases. During each instructional painting session, guests recreate an existing painting to produce a personal piece of artwork that they can leave the studio with that same day.

"The artwork is copyrighted by many different artists and there are over 1500 you can choose from to paint!" said Alford. “We are offering lighthearted entertainment that merges creativity and a social gathering where friends come together to create memorable pieces of artwork.”

In keeping with the founders’ fundraising roots, Painting with a Twist of Kennesaw is passionate about supporting their local community. With the Painting with a Purpose program, Painting with a Twist of Kennesaw will donate 85% percent of their proceeds during a charity event to raise funds for local University of Georgia baseball player, Jonathan Taylor, who was left paralyzed during a collision with a teammate during a game earlier this year.

In addition to supporting the local community, Painting with a Twist of Kennesaw also offers private parties for corporate outings, bachelorette parties, sorority functions, date nights and special events. The studio is able to accommodate up to 56 people per gathering, making painting accessible for a few friends or a private party.  Class prices are $35 for a 2 hour class and $45 for a 3 hour class.  Seniors and children paint for $25.
